Hey, neighbors! It’s me, Nicole Fallon-Peek, your host of the Daily. Keep reading to find out everything you need to know about what’s happening in town.

But first, today’s weather:

Plenty of sunshine, but cool. High: 54 Low: 33.

Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:

  1. Local Belmont Village Senior Living Turtle Creek veteran residents and staff were honored on Friday during a special ceremony unveiling its permanent exhibit. The exhibit, first launched in 2008, is titled “American Heroes: Portraits of Service”. Two staffers and 27 residents received the Air & Space Forces Association Medal of Freedom. (Belmont Village Senior Living)
  2. The Circuit Trail Conservancy has released details on the new 50-acre trail in East Dallas. The trail will be below the Tenison Glen Golf Course, about four miles from downtown Dallas, and will likely be finished by the end of next year. The LOOP trail is meant to bring new green space activation opportunities to the city. Click the link for the trail’s plan. (D Magazine)
  3. The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for North Texas. The warning will be from 3:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. The area’s wind chill will bring the temperature to the mid-20s. Dallas area residents are instructed to bring pets inside and to cover plants. (Fox 4 News)

Today in and around Dallas:

  • Verdi Requiem At Meyerson Symphony Center (1:30 PM)
