  1. A Dallas bar is hosting a Game of Thrones pop-up. The Whippersnapper on Henderson is known for hosting pop culture pop-up bars. The Game of Thrones pop-up, “Whipperfell,” will be open between Aug. 25 and Oct. 15. Guests are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Game of Thrones characters. (Dallas Observer)
  2. A Dallas man had his wedding ring returned to him after losing it on a Florida beach. A North Texas woman located the ring and returned it to Dallas’ Chris Ramirez after a photo of the ring was provided. Charlotte Duffey returned the ring and Ramirez vows to never lose it again.   3. Dallas College has been awarded about $8.8 million to grow North Texas’ biotech workforce. The biotech sector is reportedly expected to grow exponentially in the coming decades. The U.S. Economic Development Administration provided the funds, which will be used in the biotechnology, biomanufacturing, and bioinformatics career pathways. (LabIOTech)
