6 mins agoThe Atlanta Falcons activated running back
Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) off Injured Reserve on Saturday, according to sources. He will be back in action in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday after practicing all week. Patterson has missed the last four games, but he’ll be ready to go against a Chargers run defense that has been porous so far this year, so the 31-year-old could make some noise right away. However, given the long layoff due to injury, the Falcons could choose to play it safe and ease Patterson back into the offense after heavy usage in 2021. Rookie
Tyler Allgeier and
Caleb Huntley have seen increased roles with Patterson on the sideline, but they could remain involved on Sunday, making Patterson a tough-to-trust RB3/flex play.
