Dallas ISD’s curbside meal service ends this week

It’s the last week for children to get free meals courtesy of Dallas ISD.

The district is discontinuing its curbside service on Wednesday.

Free meals have been distributed weekly from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Children ages 1 through 18 are eligible for the free meals, along with 19-year-old students currently enrolled in school. Students with disabilities are also eligible regardless of age, and qualifying children do not need to be enrolled in summer classes.

Participating schools in Oak Cliff include:

  • Carter High School
  • Franklin D. Roosevelt High School
  • South Oak Cliff High School
  • T.W. Browne Middle School
  • W.E. Greiner Middle School

Traditional meal service will begin in August, with the start date based on each campus’ return to school schedule.

Families in need of assistance in the interim can call 211 or text FOODTX to 877-877 to find organizations providing meals to the community.
