Dallas man injured in shooting in Garland over the weekend dies, police say

A man who was hospitalized over the weekend after he was shot in Garland has died, police said.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to a “weapons disturbance” in the 400 block of South Forest Crest Drive, police said.

Officers found a person who had been shot and they were taken to a hospital, according to police.

A second person who was injured by gunfire went to medical facility without the help of emergency crews, police said. A witness who reported the shooting told investigators that the suspects responsible for the shooting left the area after the incident.

Police said one of the people, 24-year-old Moises Flores of Dallas, had died Monday.

Garland police did not provide any information about the second victim, who was in critical condition at a hospital Saturday.

All of the suspects who were involved in the shooting have been identified, Lieutenant Richard Maldonado, a spokesman for the Garland Police Department said in an email.
