One of North Texas’ busiest developers wants to expand its offices near Turtle Creek.
Stillwater Capital is working on projects ranging from the new PGA of America headquarters in Frisco to apartments in Deep Ellum.
The commercial property firm wants to build an eight-level office with parking on Travis Street near Fitzhugh Avenue on property that’s now the site of a smaller office building and an old home converted into business use.
“Stillwater requires additional space to accommodate their growing team,” the company said in material presented to the Oak Lawn Committee. “In addition to their expansion needs, the company desires to significantly enhance the quality of office space in the area.”
The building between Travis and Buena Vista streets is planned to house eight to 10 small tenants.
“Additional parking will be provided as an amenity to surrounding businesses, reducing on-street parking needs and enhancing the pedestrian experience in the area,” according to the developer.
Stillwater said it’s been in the existing four-story office at 4145 Travis for 12 years.
Austin-based Michael Hsu Office of Architecture designed the proposed project.
The building would be just a block from the Katy Trail in an area seeing other new developments.
