Former President Donald Trump’s social media app Truth Social has been permitted onto the Google Play Store after months of remaining in Android limbo due to .
“Apps may be distributed on Google Play provided they comply with our developer guidelines, including the requirement to effectively moderate user-generated content and remove objectionable posts such as those that incite violence,” a Google spokesperson told CNET in an emailed statement.
All apps in the Google Play Store must have effective user-generated content moderation, including users being able to report content and the ability to remove or block abuse users who violate the app’s policies. Truth Social has agreed to enforce its policies, including removing any content that incites violence, Google said.
It followson Aug. 19, telling the Trump Media & Technology Group that the app violated several standard policies, and reiterated the need for moderating user-generated content.
TMTG didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Truth Social was made available in the Samsung Galaxy Store last week, while users could also download it from the Truth Social website. The app has also since February.
