Man dies of multiple gunshot wounds at far northeast Dallas apartment, police say

A 42-year-old man died of multiple gunshot wounds at his far northeast Dallas apartment early Thursday morning, police say.

About 1:50 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 13000 block of Audelia Road, near Walnut Street, after Amanuel Negash called 911 to report he had been shot.

When officers arrived, they saw bullet holes in the front door of his apartment, and when Negash didn’t respond to their knocks, they broke down the door and found Negash with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.

Dallas Fire-Rescue took Negash to the hospital where he died, police said.

No additional details about what led to the shooting or possible suspects was immediately available.
