Brandon Beane has said his plan as Buffalo Bills general manager is to draft, develop and re-sign his own players.
In the case of Josh Allen, Beane likely knew his plan would be draft, develop and re-sign the quarterback to a mega-extension if he proved to be the QB that the franchise had been looking for since Jim Kelly retired.
Allen held up his end of the deal by showing improvement year-after-year culminating in a season that saw him complete 69.2 percent of his passes for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns in 2020. He added another eight touchdowns on the ground in the regular season. The end result was Buffalo winning the AFC East for the first time since 1995 and Allen finishing second in MVP voting.
Beane and the Bills proved to be true to their word on Friday inking Allen to a six-year extension worth $258 million. Buffalo and Allen are now linked to one another for the foreseeable future as the team looks to capture their first Super Bowl title.
Following the news of the extension, many media members took to Twitter to react to the news. Here are some of the best reactions.
