Ryan Adds to Growing Tax Business with Acquisition of RETC Group » Dallas Innovates

Dallas-based global tax services and software provider Ryan has acquired RETC Group (RETC), a property tax consulting firm also based in Dallas. It’s a deal that adds to Ryan’s growing property tax practice.

“RETC is a well-established firm in the property tax space in North Texas,” Ryan Chairman and CEO G. Brint Ryan said in a statement. “The addition of RETC further expands Ryan’s market share in Texas and adds a talented group of property tax professionals to our market-leading team. Ryan will also be able to offer RETC clients Ryan’s full suite of innovative tax services and software solutions to further enhance their tax-saving strategies. I am honored to welcome these new clients and team members to the Ryan team.”

No financial details were released.

RETC was founded in 1986 and specializes in real property tax appeal services and business personal property tax compliance. The company’s client roster and assessed values under management will expand Ryan’s presence in the highly competitive North Texas market.

Ryan said the acquisition of RETC follows a year of tremendous growth in its property tax practice, with the acquisitions of Marvin F. Poer and Co., Greystone Property Tax Advisors, Paradigm Tax Group, OneSource Property Tax from Thomson Reuters, and Kurz Group.

Ryan is constructing a 23-story multitenant Class AA office tower in the Legacy West area of Plano where it will relocate its world headquarters from the Galleria area of Dallas. The 409,000-square-foot tower is in the heart of Legacy West, a robust area lined with retail, dining, residential, hotel and office spaces. Construction is expected to be completed in Q3 of 2024.

Ryan is the largest firm in the world dedicated exclusively to business taxes, acquiring numerous tax-related firms in recent years.

The firm provides an integrated suite of federal, state, local, and international tax services on a multijurisdictional basis, including tax recovery, consulting, advocacy, compliance, and technology services.
