The searchable guide to Dallas-Fort Worth’s top 150 public companies for 2021

The Dallas Morning News teams up with Bloomberg data analysts every year to rank the 150 largest public companies in Dallas-Fort Worth, based on annual revenue.

But the ranking is rich with other details — profit, market cap value, net return, employment, top executive — making it the most complete compilation in the market.

Dallas continues to dominate the ranking as the home of corporate headquarters, accounting for 73 of the 150 spots.

Irving, which bills itself as the headquarters of headquarters, is second with 18 spots, including 14 companies that topped the billion-dollar mark in revenue last year. Plano and Fort Worth follow Irving, with 13 and 10 companies, respectively. Twenty other communities are represented on this year’s listing, showing the dispersed employment throughout Dallas-Fort Worth.

Four companies that have held spots in the Top 150 for years will drop out of the ranking next year. At Home, Michaels, RealPage and U.S. Concrete all have reached deals to go private. But a steady stream of IPOs and direct listings through SPACs means there will be new faces on the corporate horizon in 2022.
